We're looking to relocate to Texas and are trying to decide between an unincorporated area of Harris County or Fort Bend County. How do the school districts compare? And in general, are Texas schools better than Southern California? I hear great things, but I've read some disconcerting forums as well. Thanks!!!

Too large districts. It's best to look into individual schools in each district. In both you have schools that range from not so great to excellent.

There are a few school districts in Fort Bend county and numerous in Harris county. You will need to narrow it down by area to be more specific.

Go to this Google search and bring up the first result, this will give you a map of the school districts in the greater Houston area.

Oh, ok, good to know. I guess I was really looking for general insight, if that's possible. Our range for a home is so broad I couldn't possibly look at each individual school at this point.
