Angel Fire? Red River?

Snow can be unpredictable though.

Santa Fe, New Mexico would be your best bet. The Sange De Cristo mountain tops always have snow, every winter. Its about 14 hours from Houston via DFW, Amarillo then cutting north from I-40 up to Santa Fe.

Santa Fe is an amazing town and destination any time of year but winter can be exceptionally beautiful, especially after a new snow fall. I lived there for 4 years and loved the hell out of it:

Santa Fe has a ski area that can have incredible dry powder skiing after a good storm.

Unless we have a repeat of 2004 when Victoria TX got 12 inches of snow on Xmas eve you will have to drive 3 times that far to even have a hope of seeing snow. The 2004 event was touted as a "once in a lifetime" event even though it has snowed several times since.
