Has anyone, that have recently moved from the NY/NJ area, found a chinese restaurant that tastes like back home?

The Chinese food in Houston isn't bad, but it does taste different than the ones back home.

I don't live in Houston but on my recent trip to Houston, I went to FUFU Cafe on Belaire and it was pretty good and decent price. In that area, there are tons of chinese and Vietnamese food.

Isn't "bad"?! Oy vey.

Try driving down Bellaire Blvd just inside and outside the Beltway. The street signs are in Chinese for a reason. You'll find what you're looking for.

Been here almost 10 years now and haven't found a place yet that I'd keep going back to. Alot of the chinese food restaurants on Bellaire are very authenicate and not what I'm used to; the menus and all are in chinese and we've had to have one of our coworkers translate the menu.

I am curious to know as well, as I consider myself to be somewhat of a Chinese food "snob".
