My husband and I and our two girls, ages 10 and 11, are moving to Houston from Nashville, TN. We are considering homes in Spring Trails, east of I45, and Auburn Lakes, west of I45. Spring Trails feeds into Conroe ISD, Cox Intermediate, and Auburn Lakes feeds into Klein ISD, Hildebrandt Intermediate. Can anyone give me some information that will help us make the best decision for our kids. I spent a week looking at homes throughout the Woodlands and Spring and am down to these 2 choices. Everyone has been saying that you can get so much for your money in north houston and the outlying areas. I have discovered that is just not true. Taxes are outrageous compared to Nashville and, as a result, has seriously limited the house we can afford without a ton of updating. Any help is greatly appreciated!!

Spring Trails is nice. We like the CISD and our kids did well. Spring Trails makes the commute to downtown a bit easier than living in the far back of The Woodlands. Good luck to you.

Hi, hope someone else will be able to answer your question about where to live...perhaps if you state how much $ you want to spend on your home they may able to give you some more neighborhoods. I am also moving to The Woodlands area in July. I just wanted to tell ya I understand about what you mean with the taxes being considerably higher (I use to live in Hendersonville, Tn) which I am sure you know is just north of Nashville and my taxes were about 1%.
I wish I had never left in 2007 but did so for my husbands job and now find myself in NJ where the taxes are twice as high as Houston's and is a factor in us moving back to Tx (I am from there)
