Please stop using the "H-Town" phrase. It's not an official term, and most of us who live in the city can't stand that name. It's mostly used by the poorer classes. Thanks.

I did not realize that the city of Houston has an official representative charged with regulating nicknames of the city. You are doing a bang up job skipper, but I am sure the landed gentry of our fair town will be just fine no matter what the "poorer classes" call the city. Thanks.

I guess Channel 2 is appealing to the poor of Houston: Half Off H-Town (http://www.click2houston.com/halfoff/index.html - broken link)

Who voted you as the representative and the voice for everybody in H-Town?

I did, and that's good enough for me. Actually, you can take your H-Town, Slumtown, or whatever is the current hip/lame word. I've been here over 40 years, and very soon will be leaving. Can't wait!!

THANKS!!!! It's reminders like this that make leaving the town a pure pleasure. The exodus will be fantastic.

So you live in Fondren SW huh? That speaks volumes. I used to live there in the 60s and 70s before it went into the crapper. The area has been terrible since the late 80s / early 90s. The wise folks got out of there years ago...

Really? What exactly does it say? That I might be black, Mexican or Jewish like the majority of residents here? Or maybe a member of the poorer classes?

White power!
