We've narrowed our apartment search to the following places, and if you have any experience with these particular apartments, or just know the areas any feedback would be great. What we're looking for is a nice good looking neighbourhood that is very safe and close to many activities and the medical center, preferrably one that you can feel comfortable walking around in.

36sixty - 3660 Richmond Ave (between Buffalo Speedway and Weslayan)

The Parklane - 1701 Hermann Drive (edge of Herman Park)

230 West Alabama - 230 W. Alabama (between Montrose and TX-527)

The Village at West University - 5151 Edloe St. (south of 59, between Bissonnet and Westpark)

I'd go with Parklane for the area...

Those are all good. I knew someone who lived in the Parklane and I remember them being really dated, but an excellent location and views. Nothing wrong with any of them.

230 W. Alabama is a high-traffic area for homeless and other street folks with, uh, goods and services for sale..... It's literally right on the edge of residential Montrose/Westmoreland and a less developed part of Midtown. But IMO it's the best location for access to Montrose/Midtown/Museum District fun stuff.

The place on Richmond is fancy and new but sort of lonesome, sandwhiched between office buildings.

Default Re:

Thanks for the posts so far.... We're flying in for Labour Day weekend and we're trying to book some tours for the Friday. Right now we're leaning heavily towards 36-sixty just based on research online. We'll see what they're all like when we get there.

Keep the opinions coming. Thanks.
