Hello Everyone....I am moving from Indiana to the Houston area and will be working near Spotts Park..Not sure if thats downtown midtown etc...I have a 1yr and we are in our early 30's...I want to rent for a couple years, preferably in a house then I would like to buy a home once I am familiar with the areas, so school district is not a concern yet....Could you help me find an area that is less than 30 min commute, nice area, close to shops, activities etc....Thanks again.

Price range? That will be the biggest factor.

The Heights is close by there. Just a little bit north of where your job is.

Need a bit more info. Do you want to be in the city with urban lifestyle or do you want suburbs? The Heights is a good recommendation if you want to be in the city. Sugarland is a suburb to the southwest of the city. Sugarland to downtown is a common commute. How long it takes depends on when you are on the road. I used to have guys working for me who came in from Sugarland and made a point of being at the office before 7am. Took them less than 30 minutes. Others can confirm this better than I can, since I have never made the rush hour commute, but I am pretty sure that if you are doing it during prime rush hour then it will be well over 30 minutes.
