Does anyone know why it closed down? The few times I've been there, it's been packed.

I've heard rumors that they are changing locations.

Just noticed that it was closed when we walked past it Saturday. It seemed to do okay business, but nothing like Grimaldi's or Cheesecake factory.

Oh, no! I love the Kona Chopped Salad.

I don't think they plan to re-open anywhere else in Sugar Land.

I sure hope they open somewhere else in Sugar Land.
I'm a fan of their chopped salad, too. Now that I think about it, I think I've only eaten salads there (the chopped & oriental). They were both tasty.

I just updated my post because I found a news story that makes it sound like they are giving up on Sugar Land.

Now I am craving macadamia nut crusted chicken!

Thanks for the link. Sounds like it's a permanent closure.

I asked their corporate about it & they replied that they closed down a month ago and suggested I go to the Galleria location. LOL

Thanks for the recipe! Can't wait to try.

That was also my reaction to finding out that getting CPK's bbq chopped chicken salad entailed a hike out to Memorial City Mall. I found the recipe and then saw that it has over 1000 calories.

Great.

Now my stomach is growling for a chopped chicken salad. Thanks, Topaz!

It could be because the lease/rent of that area is too much. I know thats why Hollywood Video closed down nearby. I remember I spoke to the manager a while back and he told me that what they were paying monthly exceeded even the nicer areas of Los Angeles! Granted NetFlix ruined their business as well... the high cost of rent could be a possibility for the Kona shut down...
