Anyone know of a good dog training program in the Humble/Kingwood area (besides the chains like Petco/Petsmart)?

For a well trained dog, call man's best friend.

I came across this site today: Dog Training Houston by Longoriahaus Dog Training | How To Train A Dog

Anyone have any experience with this guy? He's gotten several raving reviews online (google, yelp, etc). I really like that he comes to your home and trains the dog there instead of offsite somewhere, and bringing them back later. His method gets the entire family involved, which I really like.

Having a trainer come to your house and work with the dog and the entire family is the best way to train your dog. Working in and around your home, where the dog is comfortable, is easier for all involved. I dont have any personal experience with Al Longoria but his reviews seem positive and honest.

In-home training is much preferable to sending the dog off where you have no idea what's being done to him. I've seen dogs board-trained in a short time (like two weeks) and it usually involves tactics that are harsher than you want to know about (unless you're dealing with aggression problems).

I had sent the OP a DM recommending Dogwood Dog Training in the Beltway 8/Fairbanks North Houston Road area. It offers group classes, which are less expensive than in-home training.
