Born and raised in Houston! And let me tell you... If you're a Californian coming to Houston, you might as well be headed to a retirement home instead. This place is the pooper of fun, especially if you're from SoCAL.

I've been to California and spent some time on Sunset and Rodeo drive. The clubs and bars there are nice.

It's nearly impossible to find a place with the same crowd here in Houston. Houston always seems to have Ghetto Fab people that show up and change the scene quickly. If you are looking for a good time with a crowd somewhat similar to that in California then head out to Washington street. There is a shuttle service ( The Wave ) that you can use to bar hop.

There are a lot of places to go on Washington Street. I personally like The Lot and Pearl Bar. My friends went to Hughe's Hanger recently and raved about how awesome it is.

Houston is big city just like any other. There are fun places in Galveston and Kemah.

'Ghetto' crowd is not everywhere in Houston though.

Maybe you should worry more about hanging out with good people and not limit it to Californians.

Says this NY'er.

Ghetto Fab crowd? Is that code word for Black or Latino?
I lived in CA in for a year, and there are PLENTY of class less people there.

I would say more for African-Americans.
