We are relocating to Houston. Husband will be working at Woodcreek Complex at Dairy Ashford and I-10. Recommendations for living have been Katy, Cinco-Ranch, Kelliwood, etc. My husband is willing to commute but I'm not sure how far Spring and The Woodlands would be from his work. Also, are these other places to live just as good as Spring and The Woodlands? Thanks for any help...

Yes, Katy/Cinco Ranch is "as good as the Woodlands." All the MPCs are basically the same housing stock with similar public school systems. Pick one close to work.

The Woodlands is a nightmare commute to the Energy Corridor, and it's certainly not worth it when you have Katy right down the road and the Memorial Neighborhoods and Schools right next to the work location.

The west side of Houston has many many areas to chose from, so relax and just find somewhere that you can afford within a reasonable commute to the office.

What's your budget? I love living in the memorial area. So convenient to Houston proper and the Terry Hershey park area is a terrific park in the area accessible from almost every road that crosses the bayou.

Spring and The Woodlands are way too far from the Energy Corridor. Cinco in Katy is just as nice and the commute doable. The Memorial area is closer, but much more expensive than Cinco. That's why a lot of people that work in the Energy Corrido buy in Cinco.

By the way, Kelliwood, etc. are adjacent to Cinco proper. Several refer to that whole area as the Cinco area, even though it may be another neighborhood. When you are looking on HAR.com, just input 36 for area.

Thanks everyone for the information. Sounds like we have nice areas to pick from. I'm excited to take trip and look. Thanks again.
