Many you have seen media footage - Katy residents fight Aldi grocery store from opening | News - Home - discussing a proposed location for a discount grocer named Aldi.

Oak Park Trails residents are concerned that a low end grocery store will increase traffic on Mason, possibly creating safety issues like crime as well as a decrease in property values.

How do you feel? There area has many higher end grocers and Cinco could be impacted as well. There is a petition on Channel 2's website if you would like to support Oak Park Trails.

I would think that the folks that live in Cinco Ranch would be pleased with this, as it would help to keep the low rent peeps from OPT out of their "high end" (cough) HEB's.

I was speaking about the increased traffic and possibly crime. If OPT is opposed do you really think they would shop at ALDI? Do you live in Cinco Ranch?

Do you realize that my question was asked to people who actually live there?

Sure, but since the people who live there aren't exactly blowing up your thread......

The question really should be... who would move anywhere within 15 miles of Mason Road, and not fully expect that it would countinue to develop in the same sloppy fashion that has been its signature for decades?

Where's the petition for Alid's? I'd like to sign that.

Also, I am interested in signing a petition for Section 8 development and an investigation into how and why Katy's high school football team is so good year after year.

The petition is included in Channel 2's story in my original post. Here it is again. Katy residents fight Aldi grocery store from opening | News - Home

Please pass it on to your friends and neighbors. I can't help you with the HS investigation. I imagine you would need to contact the school board or go above their heads.

I just love it when people might get screwed by businesses...
how they instantly "Love big government" and are against "Let the market decide"
