My Husband and I have been living in an apartment for over 5 years that Included our electricity and water rates in our monthly apt rent. We are moving this month to a new apartment...and are searching for electricity providers. They talk about Kilowatts.....but I am really confused. They use a base of 1000 killowatts cost $89..or so dollars.....but really...HOw does an average killowatt relate to 1375 square feet? Please....does anyone know?
Thanks
marty

Do it the easy way to get a ball park. If you find an apartment you like call and find out what's been the usage over the last year. Otherwise there's to many variables.

There are too many variables to determine with accuracy the cost of your electric bill. I would call the main office and ask them if they could provide you with some input on this. If this fails you could always call Reliant Energy, give them the address and ask if they would provide you with any costs on record for past months.

As far as electricity goes, I would sign a contract congruent with your lease term. If your lease term is 1 year then sign a one year contract. It should be around 9.4 cents per Kwh right now.

Which is what I said in the quote. Find out who the TDU for your territory is and call them.

Average kilowatt is .9974 x the square root of the broadest support beam / the number of electrical outlets x the square footage of the parking space you get.

Ronnie

I know, that didn't help at all. LOL Call the utility provider and get the history.

thanks everyone.....Heres what I found out.

the providers that say that it is a "fixed" rate.....well, that is if you use UNDER 1000 kilo per month. If you go over...they charge a whole lot more...Basically we have chose a rate of 11cents per kilo...it has less variables...and wont charge us extra for over 1500 per month...
