Thanks for the info (:
Stick to LA. Houston is all flat land, humid hot weather, obese people and no beach. You will regret your decision.

Montrose.

You can find a really nice 2 bedroom, very spacious, with hardwood floors and parking for $1000 maybe $1200

The best way to deal with blatant trolls is to simply ignore them. The guy has only two posts, both nonsense in the Houston forum. Don't feed the troll.

I would suggest Midtown or Washington Avenue, Rice Military. There are some decent apartments near the corner of Washington/Studewood. The Heights wouldn't be bad either.

We have fun areas all over town, but if you want the music scene, stick to Heights, Washington, North Montrose areas 77006, 77007, 77008 zips.

That's where you're going to find the most live music, young singles hang out places. Although that scene is spreading around somewhat and there are great places in Clear Lake and further out west.

Live close to where you work. You're from LA so you're used to that adage, but it can nearly as true here. Are you working downtown? Inner loop? Galleria? Energy Corridor? Greenspoint (don't live there)?
