Hello,

I'm in the process of closing my new home at Telfair. I need suggestions on a good contractor who can put a glass block in the place of the RainGlass in my new residence. My builder wouldnt do this at this stage, as we are about to close but they did mention that it is possible. the current window dimensions are bigger than the glass block dimension, so need a good contractor who can install this well...

any suggestions?

As a turn key glass block window, wall and shower installer,
we work for many builders, homeowners, remodelers and
window companies. There are several ways to install glass block
But we always recommend using a perimeter frame when possible.
The reason for this, is that you get the best seal as the frame
has a nailing flange, which is sealed to the stud framing. Second,
The block is sealed to the frame and lastly, the block are sealed
to each other. Depending on your current window size, will determine
If a frame can be used. The standard size block is an 8x8x3.
Again, depending on the window size, will determine if all 883 block can
Be used or if a combination of block sizes will add greater flexibility.
Basically, field measure your existing window
On the interior side. Confirm if you have all brick exterior or if it is
trimmed with hardi, we can figure out the size required.

Our aluminum frame is extruded in 24' lengths, So we can
Cut any size. With the framed Windows, the block is sealed with a
mildew resistant silicone. This is on the interior and exterior side. Our
Windows are virtually maintenance free! We also install the traditional
mortar method but this is without a frame.

I recommend using a professional installer for such work.
Don't chance the possibility of a leaking window
On a brand new house.
