Which is a better suburban area Houston or Dallas. I like trees and rain on occasion. I've been to Houston and like the Northwest as well as the Woodlands area w/ its forests. I've never been to Dallas and just wondered how they compare. Are there areas in Dallas/Fort Worth that are wooded, if so where? Any info would be helpful, thanks in advance.

This has been asked a million times I think. Anyway, the nicer suburbs in both cities are very similar. If you like trees and some rain, you will like Houston much better. Dallas has some areas with large trees, but nothing on Houston overall. They can also can go for months there with very high temps and little/no rain. I had a friend in one of the northern 'burbs where they were not allowed to water their lawn for a time, and of course the whole thing died and looked horrible.

The Dallas suburbs (with the exception of the Park Cities) are not known for trees - most places with large trees are in the city.

Having lived in both places, I would take Dallas over Houston.

But the OP was asking about wooded suburbs. Why would the OP live in Dallas when they are available only in Houston?
