Lake Conroe in Montgomery Texas is smaller than Lake Livingston.
They are both reservoirs. Lake Livingston has live dam. Beautiful! If you look at a map of both at the same time, amazing how tiny Lake Conroe is in comparison to Lake Livingston!
I believe that Lake Livingston is 90 thousand acres while Lake Conroe is 21 thousand acres?
Also Lake Livingston is 90 feet max depth and Lake Conroe is 75? Does anyone know if this is correct?
They both has alligators, snakes and fish. The water in Lake Livingston may be a little cloudier at times but the lake is huge compared to Houston's owned Lake Conroe, right? Please feel free to correct me if I am wrong, I would like to know where you get your information from if I am wrong. Lake Conroe is very busy and active, a little more dangerous than Lake Livingston, is this right? Anyway, I am comparing information for the clients that ask me. I believe that by 2017 Lake Conroe will be overpopulated since Houston is growing so fast! Feel free to comment. I would like to know more about the differences in these 2 beautiful areas!! Thanks, Marie Castecka.

Specifically, what kind of information are you looking for?

In terms of recreational boating:

Livingston -
Large with lot's of room and not too much traffic.
A lot of stump fields.
Not much to do in terms of restaurants and such.
Boating community tends to be fisherman who live close by or pleasure boaters visiting.
Mostly a fishing lake.

Conroe -
Smaller and gets quite crazy on the weekends and choppy as can be.
Easy to navigate.
Lot's of restaurants and some hangout areas.
A lot of local pleasure boaters and visitors.
Mostly a party lake.

Lake Houston -
Smallest local lake.
Relatively shallow.
Water can be nice blue or chocolate milk.
A few restaurants on the lake.
Several hangout areas.
Closest to Houston.
Party and fishing lake.
No marinas.

How many parks and camp grounds in each one? RV sites? Activities for whole family, not just adults.

We used to go to Lake Livingston when I was a kid. Don't remember much about it but I do know the surrounding area is more beautiful than anything around Houston's lakes.
