I work in Alvin, but haven't made it there yet. I am curious about that one, too. They seem to bill themselves as a higher end restaurant (which is surprising for Alvin) so I am waiting for a special occasion to try it out.

Saltgrass is low-key, and really good, too. But as said before you can easily stuff up on their bread!

Amadeus in Kemah has great steaks, and is part piano bar, but I think it was a bit pricey.

If you want the best steak, imo, you should go to Vic and Anthony's. You will have to pay for the sides. If money ain't a factor don't limit yourself because of the sides and go to Vic and Anthony's. You won't be disappointed. FYI ... there are only two Vic and Anthony's in the US (Houston and Vegas).

Other recommendations would be Pappa's, Morton's, Del Friscos, Taste of Texas and Flemmings. All excellent but imo Vic is the best.

Actually they just opened a Vic & Anthony's in new york. But you're right v & a is damn good.

Eddie V's has the best ribeyes, 32oz tomahawk bone in ribeyes. Strip House downtown has the best Filet Mignon. Perry has good chateau brion.
