My daughter and son-in-law are looking at moving to Houston in about a year so he can attend Aviation Technical Institute. I believe it's located in the SE area. They have 2 small children, and my daughter will be a Surgical Tech by then. My husband and I may come with to stay close to my grandbabies. We are in our upper 50s but still have 2 teenage daughters at home. Wondering what areas are safest, affordable and have good schools. We are currently in Lincoln NE, so this will be a huge change...I'm a farm daughter. I'm excited, but scared as well. My husband has a lot of mechanical training, both civilian and thru Nat'l Gaurd, but is interested in something in Horticulture, landscaping, etc. He grew up in the Bay area. Any suggestions for us? We are also a faith-based family and would want to find a great, upbeat, contemporary church. Would love to hear ideas!

Changes are always nerve racking, it is not easy to leave the comfort zone. Do a lot of research, go to har.com it has information on neighborhoods, schools, and housing.
