While I like 80s more than 50s it is winter afterall, and the short spurt of 50s will make us all appreciate the 80s even more. When I lived in Miami, I'd often take trips to cold countries (like Russia) in the winter as a change of pace. When the weather is constant it becomes boring no matter if it's your favorite or not.

Felt nice but it's not cold enough for me. Bring me the cold without the sun and frosty with your breath floating at 3pm and I'll be happy. Alas, that's NEVER to be for real in Houston weather sucks here.

We get spring and hell and about 2 weeks of "cool" and those 14 days are spread out between Dec-Feb rarely continuous.

My dream is to one day have a place in Chicago that I can spend Winter vacations with the family...it's the only way ill be able to really get to experience 4 seasons as a Texan. The worst thing for me is having to go through a warm and muggy Christmas...seriously ruins everything and sucks the Holiday spirit right out of you.

People with 4 seasons grumble the same and would love to swap with you. It's the human condition of always seeking greener grass.

Having lived there for a couple years, this would be ideal for me.

I guess this is just my memory through the eyes of a child- but growing up in Houston in the 80's, I remember it getting much cooler..wearing my coat fairly often! My husband tells me this is my imagination but for the few years it has hardly gotten below 60 but for a few days a year..
