Ok, I want to do something different this year for my girlfriend. Something that says Hey I love you Yada Yada YA. Let's go some where romantic but that has alot of thought and not expensive. She's not a gold digger or anything of that nature. Being that i'm a little low on funds at the moment I want to show her a good time on Valentines without coming out of pocket. Anybody know some events going on in the city that day or some romantic locations? Wonder how much does a Horse and carriage ride cost in downtown Houston?

Not sure what the weather is going to be like, but maybe make a nice picnic dinner and take her to Discover Green. Then when finished you can take her to Lucky Strike bowling by House of Blues.

The Menil Collection (free!) has an exhibit called "the progress of love." You could go see that, then have dinner at Divino across the street. Make a reservation though, it's tiny.

Discover Green and The Menil Collection both sound like good ideas. Thanks

If you do it on the weekend, how about a scavenger hunt? Look up different things in town that you wouldn't mind seeing. Make riddles or something to lead you to those places, eventually ending at a picnic in the park or something.

I would hurry up and book whatever you trying to do, because I'm sure that day is going to be busy.
