HI! We are moving to Katy in about a month from San Antonio. My husband will be working at City Centre. We're looking into Katy, more specifically Cinco Ranch because of the schools. But we're open to all areas of Katy. My husband doesn't work traditionally M-F 9-5 hours, but I'm still worried about the traffic on I-10.
How long do you think the commute could be?

Also, I've seen the Cinco Ranch Beach Club can anyone tell me who has access to this? Is it something you purchase a membership, or is it included with some HOAs? I know how hot San Antonio gets in the Summer, and know it's even Hotter and thought that was a nice recreation center for kids.

I'm also looking for a good pediatrician and OB-GYN in the Katy area, as I'll be moving 30 weeks pregnant. I know, not ideal, but really didn't have a choice.

Thanks in advance!

What's the budget? You could live right next to CityCentre, with extremely good schools. Lots of excellent medical nearby, as well as private schooling options should you chose that in the future.

We typically move every 3-4 years so renting is our only option. We'd like to rent a 4 bedroom and stay under 2200$ a month. I've heard the City Centre area is pretty $$. Not sure we can swing that with our price range.

Yeah, a 4 bedroom for that price will push you to Katy. I would try to stay as far east as you can. Greentrails is an excellent area in Katy. Commute probably at prime rush will be about 20 minutes, if no wrecks or rain.

Use HAR.com for search for residential leases.

Thank you. I recently discovered HAR.com and it's great for research. 20 minutes ins't bad at all, he already commute about 20-30 minutes.

The beach club and all the other pools in Cinco Ranch (there are 9!) are paid for by HOA fees. So you would have to work something out with your landlord regarding that.

As a homeowner in Cinco, I pay $1000 yr in HOA fees. There was a one-time fee to get the key card. $20 I think.

The Cinco pools are only for residents in single family homes. So apartment residents are not eligible. However, all the apartments around here have very nice pool areas of their own to use.

We're definitely looking for a house, not an apartment. Any chance anyone knows the name of the subdivisions in Cinco Ranch?

There's a gazillion. (Almost) go to Houston Real estate, Houston homes, Houston Realtors - HAR.com and search for rentals in Cinco Ranch. Search the 77450 and 77494 zip codes.

Cinco Ranch IS the name of the subdivision. There are just little neighborhood names inside it. Homes are grouped together by reletive value and lot size. Check out the Cinco Ranch website for details
