I always wonder what is the real motivation for people to donate millions of dollars.
There's gotta be some financial or political factor to it. At least to get publicity.

Well, the thing is, many people think they will find some sort of happiness through wealth. What happens is, the get the money and they are not happy. Instead, they come to find happiness by giving it away.

In the case of Arnold, the guy has a hard on for numbers. I know a lot about his trading acumen. Having left the hedge fund business there is a void in his life from an analytical perspective. I think he seeks to fill that void through solving some of our greater problems. I wish there were more like him.

Well, hopefully we are going back to the old ways where the wealthy support the down and out by freely giving private donations; instead of this modern age of entitlement policies, where the middle class are forced to pay for the welfare riders.

Some of the largest contributors will give under the condition of anonymity. What's wrong with giving, giving back, contributing? You can't spend it all at some point.

Of coarse, people will find any reason to question the motives of those who are successful...even if the motives are selfless.

Sounds like a great program. Many charities could be more efficient in how they process/distribute gifts. Its tough for them as they deal with many volunteers for staff.
