You know what would really cut down on the home invasion robberies targeting business owners - GET RID OF THE SEARCH BY OWNER NAME on HCAD and other nearby county websites!! Come on counties, wake up! There are way too many lazy and greedy animals out there that could care less about others.

Burglaries is usually a crime of opportunity, I don't think HCAD listings contribute much to this type of crimes. I think posting on Facebook that you're on Vacation has more consequence than hcad.
You're right, it is a serious problem in Htown. The best solution is to have tougher laws and sentences for all crimes. Look at countries like Singapore where you get a lashing for littering. Start them off on the right path from a young age and they won't develop into thugs. Unfornately, that's never going to happen in this country of "liberty".

Please explain your theory in how public access to HCAD records aids home invasion robberies ?
