We have been in our home one months and had 3 major repairs. Buyers beware. Perry Homes can be very accusatory when you point out prproblems.

We own a Perry Home, I like the design but haven't been all that impressed with the craftsmanship. I've seen worse with other builders in the area.

Maybe we should be aware of angry posters who can't bother to spell check. Did you do your due diligence on the purchase? We are now passed the 2 year mark, and Perry fixed all of our minor repairs as reported by our home inspector both before closing and at the 2 year mark. No complaints here.

Default Some advise?

Hi all,

I am in the exact same position as Blessed2BABlessing was some year ago. Any updates to her questions? I am considering to get a Perry Homes at SCR - Edge Water or Crystal Cove.

"""Has anyone purchased a Perry Home in the past couple of years? How was your experience? Any problems? Please provide me some insight as I am quite nervous about Perry Homes now? ""

Thanks,

Jessica Ortiz

Been living in our newly built Perry home for one month now. We had 3 little issues. Back light for one thermostat out, dishwasher had a clog, and a few cabinets had some flaws from (chip, nail from construction, broken handle, and there was no support at the baseboard under the stove (felt flimsy). Put a warranty request in for the dishwasher only. The cabinets we already had a request in the week of closing with out construction manager. That same week the cabinet guy came and took inventory of the flaws. He ordered parts. He said it would be a few weeks. The next day after I submitted the online warranty request form I got a call from our construction manager I side mentioned about the thermostat. Also side mentioned still waiting on cabinet guy... The next day ALL vendors showed up (including cabinet guy) and bam all fixed. Cabinet guy took off base board under stove and found the support pieces and he said it looked like they were there but when they installed oven they didn't put them back in. Now that baseboard is solid. AC guy replaced the thermostat. Dishwasher guy found the clog and I asked how we could fix this is ourselves in the future and he showed me (I had let my son do dishes one night) They have been very responsive. They have been like that through the whole process. My only advice is when you see things that bother you, speak up. The baseboard really bothered me and if I had had the cabinet guy look at it and agree its not right it would have been over looked. Love this house. Good luck!

Yup. These Perry homes, in the First Colony area, have aged more gracefully than other tract builders in the area. Fewer issues 20+ years later.

many homes built during the 80s and early 90s were better than the ones built over the last 15 yrs from all builders.

Agreed, but I'm comparing the Perry builds from that time to others built at the same time from other builders, at least in First Colony.
