All radio is going to hell.
Is it 97.5? I was always amazed that Killeen had a hip hop/r&b station but Waco didn't. I guess Waco was glad to get K104 though.

The Point is broadcasting as 107.5 D2 (or whatever) if you have HD radio. Although sometimes it will go off the air for several hours, and earlier last year there were several days when everything played at super slow speeds. Obviously not always monitored well.

I guess you can't really get mad at one less rock station being on the airwaves, though. Some of the music is okay, but those damn morning shows...

LMAO! I hate 97.9. I'm more of a pop music person anyway but I do like R&B but I'm selective with it. Honestly I prefer the R&B of before 2002 so if I want it I listen to 102.1. I'm always listening to the quiet storm at night. Reminds me of my childhood, riding home from Grandma's. I swear when my mom would change the channel to 102 it would always be the same song - Maze's Golden Time then Make It Last Forever by Keith Sweat. I was in heaven sleeping in the backseat.

I can't listen to whatever dude wants to be hip hop's newest wannabe lil' whoever turn businessman. I like words over flows. R&B to hip/hop unless it's a select few.

I primarily listen to 104.1 but really radio stations play my least favorite songs. 104 is hard right now because I'm about punch the dash if I hear Royals one more time.

Before that I remember fall 2012, 104 was KILLING me on the drive to work with that God awful Let's Go Neo song. I hate Neo just for that now.

Additionally, it does a better job of financially supporting the specific artists you choose.

It was different when you were basically forced to buy a whole album to get a song or two that you liked, but now with most songs costing $.99 to $1.25 I don't see why more people are purchasing the music they like and creating play lists on their phones. If you want new music, throw up a station on Pandora of a song you like so you can hear more in that style or do an internet search. Today, there is no reason why you must listen to traditional radio.

Plus, how long does it take to convert the CD you bought at some band's performance for $10 to add into your phone?
Wait, who buys albums?

If you wanna support your favorite artists, go see their shows.

Amen. Terrestrial radio is painful after exclusively consuming satellite radio.

102.1's format needs a real overhaul but with no competition they can keep spewing that generic r&b

They call Kandy Eastman, etc. and ask for the basic songs and 102's playlist sucks unless a DJ comes in with a mix...they have a hold on the black women demographic and as a black male, that demographic is 100% routine based as just call 102.1, rap with the DJ and that's it...rarely met one who will play with the radio outside of basic stations on the FM dial...

Radio One has the hold on concert tickets, etc. so they can pimp you out all day for tickets.....if you attempt to advertise on there...you will pay dearly

I can do without the Morning Shows and listen to MUSIC....

If I had a station...scrap the national morning shows...go local with one that emphasizes music more than pushing an agenda....I'll spin the hits but hit them hard with the songs from people such as Maze that aren't mainstream...may even throw in a brief talkshow in the afternoon to get the blood boiling...throw in some sports, etc.....all from a african american perspective in Houston

The one thing I look forward to when visiting New Orleans is playing their old school R&B station, one of the best playlists around IMHO. Great music is good for the heart.

I've never been to a live performance where they sell individual songs. Whenever I go see a local band at a bar, they sell CD's.

My guess is that support them more when you go to see their show AND buy their CD.
