How much reliable is the estimated price shown on Zillow/Redfin ?

Zillow not reliable at all. Redfin on the other hand is legit. You can see what people actually paid for their home and see what incentives they received.

In areas that are as hot as Houston Zillow is worthless imo

Zillow estimates are usually very inaccurate, as I've been told. Texas is a non-disclosure state.
Not sure about Redfin, but if it's anything like Zillow, it won't be accurate either.

From what i've seen on Redfin, its pretty accurate. Atleast our price was pretty accurate. However, i notice that for certain houses, it doesn't list the prices? Any one know why? is it only for houses which were sold recently?

Redfin is accurate. You need an account to see the juicy details of your new neighbors' buying price, loan type, etc.
