Hello,

Does anyone have any input about the Preserve at Northampton? We love The Woodlands but this seems close enough for our liking. We are concerned about the railroad. Does anyone have anything to say about that? Is it loud in that area? Anything anyone could tell me about this neighborhood would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you!

A coworker recently moved there. She loves it so far.

After living near a railroad, any subsequent move for us will be nowhere near a railroad. Buyer beware.

My wife and I actually considered the Preserve before building elsewhere nearby. The railroad was one concern, the other was that I have a strong dislike for gated communities. Well, really, I hate the gates more than the communities behind them. The trains are audible for a couple of miles around the track, but since the community borders right on it, I imagine it would be fairly loud.

That said, it is a booming area, being so close to the new Exxon campus. There are a few other developments in that region around Klein Oak HS if you decide that the railroad proximity is a deal breaker.

I did lived behind a railroad and originally had lot of concerns when I moved there. After living there, I almost never noticed it. Maybe once a blue moon when a train honk at 4-5am in the morning but almost never.

I would be very concerned about the huge tract of open land just in front of the community. This screams future apartment complex, hopefully not.

Given the huge lack of density in the area, I'd feel it's safe to say that it wouldn't become an apartment complex in the immediate future, but I could definitely see a retail strip center there, and considering how close this will be to 99 Segment F-2 when it is completed, it very well could be an apartment complex someday. I just don't think it'll become one within the next 5-10 years.
