Anyone have any information on when the Lamar Consolidated elementary school will be built in Firethorne? I've pulled up stuff online saying 2019. SURELY it won't be THAT far out?

For those that have kiddos at Huggins Elementary- is there a short cut to getting there I should know about? Surely you don't trudge all the way down 1463 AND 1093 to get there in the mornings (hoping).

Any info would be awesome- thanks

OP....We are thinking of building in Firethorne. We would like your opinions on the quality of Huggins. I am also interested in an answer about that shortcut. We thought there has to be a quicker way. Hoping too. We love the feel of Firethorne so any information is appreciated. Especially you thoughts on Huggins.TIA.

I've heard that Huggins is a pretty good school- my daughter won't attend til next fall (2015) so I don't have personal experience with the school. A few friends of mine have kids there, and they are pleased.

Katy-Fulshear road no longer goes all the way through- its going to veer off somewhere in Cross Creek, ugh. I would love if someone had insight.

angiesu- we signed a contract a month ago. The school issue was my only hold out. I have no problems with LCISD. We are moving from Cinco, out of KISD actually. But that drive to Huggins still erks me a bit. And I dont feel comfortable with my soon to be 5 year old taking the bus....I wont feel comfortable with that idea for some years....even though that would solve everything.

Estimated construction start for the school is 2018 so yes that would be a 2019 completion. It may be earlier but that will depend on the growth in that area.

Katy Fulshear Rd is closed to through traffic and will eventually be part of the Katy Fulshear Parkway (or whatever they name it).

We live in firethorne west and we really like it. Currently I have a 18 month old so an opening in 2019 works for me. I work in catholic school in Houston/Bellaire so he will most likely go to pre-k and kinder with me then I will put him in 1st grade at the new school. But I saw a road by tamarron subdivision go straight through the caution light and that takes you to fulshear . I think by hula car wash .

Actually, The newest section of Cross Creek Ranch now connects to Churchill Farms. You can cut through Churchill Farms (The first entrance before right after 1463 curves to the left) and then make your way to Cross Creek Bend and that will take you through Cross Creek Ranch and avoiding 1463 all together. Look at it in google maps (The "Maps" view not the earth view).

Turn by turn:

-Go south on FM 1463
-Right after the Tamarron light make a right on Winston Ridge Ln (first entrance into Churchill Farms)
-Right on Yorkshire Brook Ln.
-Street turns into Boone Heights Ln.
-Make a right on Halls Farm Ln. This will throw you into Cross Creek Ranch.
-After that you make a turn or two and that will lead into Cross Creek Bend...follow this street all the way until the main entrance of Cross Creek Ranch off of 1093.

This newest master plan of Cross Creek will probably help as well: http://www.crosscreektexas.com/uploa...g_05-07-15.pdf
