Changing subject a bit. Currently family has Sprint. What is the best carrier besides Verizon in the sugar land area? Was looking at other threads for this and latest was updated back in 2010.

Depends on specific block almost.

I use TMobile and I am generally happy, plus is cheaper than ATT or Verizon.

Worse case scenario you can always complain if the reception is bad enough in your house they might throw you a repeater.

Some of the new houses with radiant shield and etc really kills the reception.

Your house in contract? If yes, congrats.

Yes. I should be closing on the 19th or 22nd.

I was leaning towards Tmobile as they have great deals.

I have tmobile through my job (although I live way on the opposite side of the city) and have been happy with them. In my house my phone is usually doing WiFi calling so while I do have reception indoors I rarely need to worry about it.

Any good hospitals in the area that provide most services in one building?

I don't like hospitals that have offices all over the place.

After Medical Center, SL probably have the most hospitals around in the city.

Take your pick really; Methodist on Sweetwater, Memorial Herman in Greatwood, St Lukes in Hwy 6, etc.

Welcome to the Houston area. I was born and raised in the SF Bay Area and have lived in Houston since 1992 and am quite happy here . The reasons you've mentioned for moving here are quite valid. Once people realize they can sell their $700K tract house and upgrade their overall lives and that Houston isn't a redneck hick town with tumbleweeds blowing around downtown some actually come and stay. I think CA license plates are second only to Louisiana plates as far as the out of state plates that I see driving around.
