I am going out of town for 4-5 days and wanted to see where I can park safely due to floods. Airport is hobby. They have Parking spot but everything is on ground which can flood.

I am leaving next week but wanted a peace of mind when parking. I have find covered parking on Pre-Flight which is on 3rd floor. Can covered parking on 2nd, 3rd floor flood? I mean they are very high from the ground and all the parking garages I have seen are inclined or declined depending how you look at it.

We are going out of town next week; flying out of Hobby. We are planning to park in one of the garages on one of the higher up floors. As long as we aren't on the ground floor, I think we will be ok.

We were out of town when Allison hit in 2001. We had parked in one of the cheap-y outdoor lots around Hobby a week earlier.

Freaked out when we saw semi trucks floating down the street on the national news. Thought for sure our car at Hobby was a total loss.

Nope! Not a thing wrong with it when we flew home.

So you never know...

My car was parked on 3rd floor garage at Hobby during the flood. No problem. If I'd left my car at home, it would have flooded.

So I guess everyone is going to be in a state of panic now after a rare storm hit with 11 inches of rain. It's not going to happen all the time. Sometimes things like this are going to happen and you can't spend the rest of your life trying to avoid every possible risk. All that stress isn't good for you. Just have a good insurance policy and enjoy your trip.

Sounds about right. Honestly, I don't remember that part of the neighborhood being flood-prone. Then again, these drastic events just don't happen enough that I'm always running by Hobby in a few feet of water, either.
