Humble ISD president Martina Dixon to challenge Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo in 2022 election

Why does this seem so far away? It could be interesting…need to understand Martina’s position on several issues.

Lina won’t get the benefit of straight party voting this time but will she ride Beto’s coattails?

At least it looks like 2022 will be a fun election year!

Beto needs to get a real job. Bouncing around trying to get elected to anything is a bad look.

Yeah, his comments about confiscating peoples' guns will get a ton of airplay. I'm not sure how he thinks he can win anything statewide in Texas after making those remarks... however, he does have a sizeable following and support from the DNC...his participation could help out other down-ballot candidates like Lina.

Texas Monthly trying to figure out why so many Hispanics in Texas are voting Republican... latest theory is they think they are "white." Yeah, right.

Lina will win easily. I’m not so sure about Beto. I’d rather see Julian or Joaquin Castro.

Sure hope that Hidalgo is given the boot. She has been a complete disaster. Cares more about mask mandates than preventing violent crime. If you care at all about reducing the crime rate in Houston then vote against Hidalgo.

Cuevas reserved his harshest criticism for the current County Judge.

"Lina Hidalgo and the Commissioners Court under her direction is worse than any variant that's hit Harris County," he said.

With the full backing of its membership, the Harris County Deputies Organization is filing a major class-action lawsuit in federal court against the entire Commissioners Court and Sheriff Ed Gonzalez.

If you're trying to save the most lives, focusing on mask wearing and vaccination is exactly correct. Violent crime is obviously important too, but effects a fraction of the number of people that covid does.

This poster clearly has no clue what the role of a Texas county judge is.

You are the one that has no clue. I trust the Harris County Sheriff Deputies opinion on crime and Hidalgo's role more than an anonymous poster on an internet forum.

You choose to trust whoever tells you what you want to hear. That goes for liberals and conservatives.

Lina will cruise to victory. Its Harris County after all. If Beto runs, Abbott will win very easily. I do think we have a shot to get rid of Paxton though.
