I searched the internet but could not find the answer

I believe Texas has 3 different titles

Regular
Salvage
Rebuilt

So if I change a transmission in a car, should I get a new title?

Salvage title is when a car is totaled by the insurance company, usually from accident or flood damage. Rebuilt is when a salvage car has been repaired and put back in good enough condition to be legally driven. Both cut the vehicle's value down a good bit. Salvage is often like 10-25% of the value, and rebuilt can be 50-70% of the regular title value.

transmissions are not catastrophic damage. usually that is reserved for major frame damage, roll overs, such as that where most of the value of the car is gone.
