Last Friday I enrolled for the TSA PreCheck at the office on SW Freeway, near the Houston Chronicle. I haven't received anything online yet and wondered if anyone else has used that office and how long it took them to get their number. My husband did his at the Deer Park office and got his number in less than 36 hours.

Not exactly the same situation but similar, our family's Global Entry applications were all filed online within minutes of each other and the conditional approval notifications took anywhere from 24 hours to 11 days to roll in. Go figure.

I'm pretty sure i had an update within a week. But it's possible that they are particularly busy now and it could take extra time.

I did global entry since it wasn't much more. It only took a few days for it to go through. Getting an appointment that worked for me was a different story but I went to IAH for my interview.

Yeah, i made the mistake of not doing Global Entry first before Pre-check. Lesson learned. But i was able to do my interview at the downtown library, which was easier than going to IAH.

Global Entry/Pre-Check is the greatest money I've ever spent.

If you have a platinum Amex and charge either the precheck or global entry fee to it Amex will reimburse you. Some of the chase cards do the same as well

You enrolled thru IdentiGo, which is a private service. I didn't even know that was offered by anyone other then the feds. It appears TSA can be done thru them.

I just went thru the Global Entry program, which requires an in-person meeting with a customs agent. And as others have said above me, for just a little more, offers GE in addition to TSA.

Either way, you'll be glad you have TSA. Sorry I don't have more info on your specific program. Good luck!

What a deal, pay extra fees on your ticket for Mickey Mouse security theatre then get to pay more to bypass it.
