How does Sheila Jackson Lee keep getting re-elected?

The woman is notorious for her less than intelligent comments and claims of being a former slave, so how in the world can this woman keep getting re-elected?
Are her constituents just as clueless as she is?

Come on Houston......... you elected the first openly gay mayor of a major city, you should be proud of that, but at the same time, you continue to keep SJL in office.

Whats really going on?

"Is there anything that blacks don't complain about? Geez!

You complain when you don't get nominated for an award.
You complain when a criminal gets shot and killed by a cop.
You complain when you loot and burn your own neighborhood.
You complain when someone disagrees with Obama.
You complain ALL THE TIME!"

How does this Yankee keep getting re elected? Ever paid attention to who lives in district 18? It is really quite simple.

I don't have any feelings about her one way or another. I will say I've heard less than positive things about how she treats her staff, but without having seen any of it first hand that doesn't really weigh much into my consideration.

Then again, I don't live in her district, so my opinion doesn't matter for much. Unless you do, yours doesn't either

I have to agree. She is awful -- such an embarrassment for our city, but some people just keep voting her in. I will never get it.

All you have to do is look at who lives in her district. Thats why.

It is the price of gerrymandering. The black community could be influential in multiple districts' races but are gerrymandered, mostly, into one district.

gerrymandering is only illegal if a republican benifits from it.
