Hi houston!

I have a montrose 50s house and want to replace the roof. I think it might be original asbestos cement tile roofing. Where would I take the tiles for disposal? I can find anything with search.

thanks!

I don't think YOU will take the tiles anywhere--the roofing company should be responsible for proper removal and disposal. Unless the roof is damaged beyond repair, this roof type is meant to last a lifetime and you might try and have it repaired instead of replaced with (frankly) an inferior product. There are specialized roofers around town, though there aren't many.

Our old house had this roof type (diamond-shaped tiles) and we really liked it. Unfortunately, the roof suffered a lot of damage after Ike, and M&M Roofing took care of everything. You need to watch them like hawks, though. The guys actually doing the work need to take great care with disposal and they need to wear proper masks to protect themselves from the airborne fibers.
