If folks are going and checking out the arts area, make sure to stop by Donny Hickmott's booth. He's a local artist that specializes in Western style art from Old Town Spring. He's a buddy, so I'm going to give him a shout out as I know that he's showing there this year.

If you are not going to the rodeo, make sure to stop by Walking Horse Gallery when in Old Town Spring and check out his stuff.

Is it weird that I'm considering flying down from New Jersey JUST to go to the rodeo. (Hubby thinks that's not the best idea...) I LOVE IT and I'm so sad I don't get to go this year. Think they'll ship me up some of the fried twinkies if I ask really nicely???

Oh yea. We will be staying in the Lakeview RV park that is about 2 miles from Reliant. Will be doing the Sugarland and Martina McBride shows. I also love all the food choices and the live stock shows.

Then some fishing and boating on Lake Livingston will top our trip. Some Horse back riding at familys farm in Shepherd and I will be a happy man.

Maybe this time we will stay for good.

Yes jfe thats the place. I know it is not a very nice area. We stayed there last year too. But it is gated and the hosts are exceptionaly nice Cowboys and Cowgirls. Lots of people stay in Lakeview who are getting medical treatement nearby. I guess there is a real good hospital near.
