I didn't see another thread on this, so starting my own.

We are starting a puppy search for our daughter, and would like to know if anyone here can recommend a Labradoodle breeder in the area. We don't mind driving a bit, but ideally they are somewhat local.

Thanks!

If I were you I'd go with a goldendoodle. The labs are more 'wired', so much energy. I don't know how old your girl is but goldens are more mild mannered and less hyper.

You could take your search to Facebook. Be prepared to spend a lot of money.

Wouldn't Houstons hot muggy climate make it more difficult for the longer haired golden-mix than for the lab- mix to
remain comfortable in the summer ?

I would think so. Our old dog (sheltie-retriever mix) had to be shaved in the summer or she was miserable.

I'm not in Houston but I have two labradoodles and they are both pretty chill, they are definitely not hyper. Usually if these dogs turn out to be high strung it's from their poodle parent

Safari Doodles in McKinney, TX (DFW area). It's not really "local," but it's not a bad drive - about ~3 1/2 hours. They breed goldendoodles and labradoodles. They have lots of reviews on Facebook. They breed for temperament and do temperament testing.
