I-45 widening projects begin move to Galveston - Houston Chronicle

Article talks about various southside projects widening I-45 from Beltway 8 to Galveston. The southernmost part will be done in 2020. That's about when work will start on I-45 N from downtown!

"Two major projects in a seemingly perpetual effort to unclog I-45 south of Beltway 8 officially ended Thursday, allowing work to begin on another section of a plan to eventually widen the interstate all the way to Galveston to ease congestion in a rapidly growing region.
"They have been working on that freeway since I was 5 years old. That's 62 years ago," League City Mayor Pat Hallisey said."

Went to Galveston this weekend and it has been awhile. Surprised that there was very little construction. Definitely nice with more lanes...

Default Meh...

I first came to Houston in 1979 as a teenager for one summer, then moved permanently as a teenager still in 1980, and there has been perpetual construction on I45! It will never be done!
