We are getting transferred from Fort Worth to The Woodlands/Spring area with Exxon. We are interested in building somewhere zoned to The Woodlands High School. We came across the Stillwater Development in Conroe which is zoned to Powell Elementary in the Woodlands and The Woodlands High School. It is located next to the National Forest off of 45. Is this a good are and/or good investment as growth continues in Conroe?
Thanks for any help

It's weird that they're zoning it to TWHS when it's closer to College Park. You'll have a long drive down 1488 with that traffic to get the kids to school, and with only 45 and 1488, the traffic is going to be horrific.

Other than that, it seems that the homes are priced really high per square foot- especially for where they are located.

Do you know of any other areas that are zoned to The Woodlands High School that we could build in?

Pretty sure they still are building in both The Woodlands Reserve and in Carlton Woods. Other than that, most building is outside TWHS.

lol....what are you talking about? Long drive? TWHS is like a 10-12 minute drive from Stillwater's community; you wouldn't take 1488.....just exit the community onto the 45 feeder road right before the Dominion Apartments, go down 2 stoplights to Research Forrest, turn right until you hit TWHS. Or even better might be to take the feeder to the FIRST stoplight at 242, down to Gosling, right on Research Forrest to TWHS. Hardly a long drive in this freaking city, especially considering the excellent schools you would have access to.

And who cares why it's zoned to TWHS. The point is that it IS zoned to TWHS.....that's kind of the draw of living there. One of the very few places you can build a brand new home while zoned to those incredible schools.

Yes, and while you're driving down the feeder road for 45, you pass Woodlands College Park High School... Same if you go down 242. (it's seriously there.)

And per both Waze and Apple Maps, it's fastest to take 1488 to 242 to Greenbridge to Research Forrest- by almost 10 minutes. (Also look where Powell is and what schools Powell feeds into and where those schools are located.)

Is Stillwater considered a nice area to live? We are also looking into building in benders landing. Are the schools zoned to BL at all comparable to the woodlands schools?

BL is zoned to new HS, which will open 2018-19 school year. BL is not in TW, but it's nice community. Schools are under the same district. My kids left the schools some years ago, but schools were very good.
