Hi, my family is moving from Pearland to the Cypress area due to new job/long commute. I have 2 children, ages 1 and 3, with hopeful plans for another in the near future. We looked at houses recently and found 2 we really liked, one in Blackhorse and one in Stable Gate. Can anyone give me their thoughts on these particular subdivisions? Both houses would meet our needs, our fairly priced, and have nice lots and pools. My husband is def leaning towards the Stable Gate home as it seems to be a closer knit community and has a nature preserve. I am torn as I like really involved communities and want to befriend my neighbors and feel like the larger MPCs like Blackhorse may make that process easier. Blackhorse seems to be closer to 290 also for ease of commute. However, Stable Gate is north of 290 and is much more wooded which is nice too. And yes, I am aware of the flooding in Stable Gate in particular and am aware of the home's flood history. We looked at homes in several other neighborhoods as well, but so far these are the top two. I would appreciate any and all feedback!
Thanks!

I've lived in Stable Gate since 2004, and it is definitely a tight knit community. If you're looking for friends for your kids to play with you could find them, I remember all the kids in the culdesac playing together all the time when I was younger. I live very close to the ditch, and have only flooded once (hopefully it stays that way). The schools (Black Elem., Goodson Middle, and Cy-Woods) are very well rated, good schools. The old stables in the back and soccer field is nice to hang out at, and there are some cool trails back behind the ditch. I'm clearly biased, but I think you'd love Stable Gate.
