Wow seriously? Another chemical plant is on fire...this is becoming ridiculous..sabotage maybe? If the fire isn’t put out soon we Houstonians will be breathing in more toxic chemicals! Our poor city has gone through a lot of crap in these past few years

This is what happens when you don't regulate industry properly. The private sector's profit making interests conflict directly with safety and environmental protection.

Without knowing the cause of this explosion why would you automatically assume it's due to a lack of regulation? Vehicle accidents, lightening, flooding and natural disaster are all known causes of incidents like this and all the regulation in the world can't prevent everything.

This fire conveniently happened a few weeks after Deer Park. And you can’t blame the weather for either incidents

There's nothing convenient about a chemical plant explosion or the death/injury of workers.

It's called minimization of risk.

It's called jumping the gun without any information, that's what the current Harris County leaders do but we should be better than this.

You obviously don’t work in the industry if you think these facilities are not heavily regulated by both the Feds and the state.

Are you suggesting regulations automatically protect us? Violation fines just become a cost of doing business.
