What is your point? The mayor has already said they're not imposing the fine, they're going to try to encourage people to wear a mask. So if you feel that strongly that you shouldn't wear a mask, take the risk. But why on earth don't you just wear a mask? Why be hostile and difficult about this?

Will I get shot by police if I forget to wear bandana when walking my neighborhood trails?

Exactly! Because....my people didn't say to wear one. It's really that black and white unfortuntely.

I would think being outdoors is different because of the air. BUT the lawn guys are all down my street so when I walk my dog I wear my homemade mask/scarf because someone was just in that spot and maybe things can linger.

I was annoyed at first because I can't sew and what I did make was suffocating. So I stayed in the house. Friends sew so I have a few masks that feel effortless and comfortable on my face so I feel okay going out if I need to - the PO and grocery/pharmacy.

I am trying to find out what is legally considered 'public places' and what not.
I spend a lot of times outdoors on trails and practice social distancing.
Of course I wear mask and gloves at the stores.
But police might start targeting people not wearing masks in the empty streets.

If you are out in the street walking, then you are by default "exercising", so no fine. So stupid are the penalties, but it is also no big deal, the city is even giving masks away. How often to people spend in stores these days anyway? Not as much, just wear something on your face.

You know, CD has has the same emojis since 2008... I think it is about time CD got with the modern times!

This may not be related to the topic but my apartment complex entrance gate has been left open for 2 weeks per CDC guidelines. Is there anybody here experiencing same situation with their apartment complex?

If that’s the case, then they are using fear tactics to get people to wear masks
Why say that people are going to get fined $1000 when two days later they are going to say “there’s no fines”?

Hidalgo said herself a few days ago fines will not be enforced. The officer will hand you a mask and strongly suggest you wear it.

An actual N95? If so, how about some goggles as well. Everyone’s getting the okay to wear t-shirts and bandanas that won’t do a lick of good, but no protection for the eyes if one walks through a finely atomized mist of someone’s snot? Not to start a run on goggles, but that makes no sense.

I could not find a method to the madness for the 6-foot rule, because it sounded like a nice, round number, which is basically correct:

Well, there's this. A cloth mask prevents your gross germs from getting to other people.

But I'm sure all you Dr. City-Datas here don't need real data.

Abbott’s recently issued order supersedes this dumb a** mandate. He made that clear in his presser yesterday.
