I have a few questions about the 288 construction project and its environs.

Will this project include any frontage roads?

What’s going on at Almeda and 610?

They are wrapping up the construction now. The tollway in the middle is open and already charging (they had a nice free time for the first 30 or so days). It is a huge improvement.

I really hope they don't add frontage roads. They have added some down in the Pearland Area, and there are a few spots inside the loop that have them, but 288 has a unique look for Houston, and I hope that doesn't change.

We have at least 10 other big freeways in Houston with frontage roads and ugly shopping centers. 288 should be lined with big trees to make it stand out even more. That's one area where I'd actually like to "California my Texas."

288 is already a booming area, and this new part of it is going to make Brazoria County even hotter. My parents built their house close to 288 in Pearland. They paid around 200k for it 8 years ago and homes are already selling for 300 now. Hopefully that keeps up!

288 is nicknamed the river freeway for a reason. 2020 showed us a lot of flood control improvements. Hope this works out and continues the work
