I'll ride for Houston sports teams, but I gotta be real: The Rockets are going to suck for the next few years due to Harden's departure. When Harden was picked up by Houston, he was showing out every game, putting up big numbers, but his play has suffered before he got traded. I feel like Harden didn't want to be in Houston anymore and it showed: He did the minimum in his last games in Houston. Chris Paul gone, Harden gone...who's the next big star to show out for the Rockets?

Deshaun Watson is done with the Texans & it's for the same reason: frustration at Texans mgmt. Anyone who follows Houston sports knows that Houston sports management makes questionable moves, so I honestly don't blame Deshaun for wanting to leave. He's still with the team for now, but I don't see Watson with the Texans too much longer. Even JJ Watt has let it be known his frustration with the team, and if Watt & Watson leave, the Texans will be toast.

Watson't frustration is understandable. Team management wants to follow the Patriots plans because of their success, but they don't see that that success was mostly due to Tom Brady. Watson is completely different from Brady, and needs a head coach an OC who use his strengths to build an offense, not try to fit him in to a scheme designed for a QB with different skills. Hopefully McNair sees that at some point and does the right thing.

And reportedly, management promised to consult Watson about the GM and coach hiring decisions (not sure if that was a wise move, but supposedly they said that), and then surprised Watson with Caserio, plus keeping Easterby. If that's how it went down, then Watson has a right to be upset.

Facts. Brady & Watson are two different QBs with a different skillset. Team mgmt. & Watson should have a meeting to figure out how to build around Watson's strengths.

Texans management has pulled this for a while. If we're honest, that's probably why JJ Watt has been pissed at the direction of the team. In sports, as with anything else, what goes on behind the scenes is more important than on the field.

If the two teams don't become competitive soon, Houstonians will lose interest in those two sports and the eroded fan base will show in low ticket sales. I was hoping for an NHL hockey team by now, but it seems Houston's teams suck in general.

The Astros were in a slump 20 years ago, but fast forward, the team quickly became World Series Champions* once they got out of that slump.

Even the Astros are hard to support these days. I'm sure most (all?) teams cheat to some extent, but to do it so brazenly and get caught is embarrassing. Dark times for Houston sports.

And Springer is gone from the Astros.

I think fan interest has and will continue to wane across the board both due to covid and to the lower team quality.

The problem with Houston teams is management consistently makes an acquisition or cuts out a cancer about two years after the fans realized it and demanded it. If they had axed OBryan two years ago, a fresh coach probably would not have traded Hopkins and demoralized Watt and Watson.

Still looking for pro hockey to complete the Big 4 sports combo!

Heard the Dallas Stars aren't doing too well with ticket sales. Anybody want Tillman Fertitta or somebody with deep pockets (maybe J.J. Watt to fulfill his hockey dreams?) to relocate the Stars or another team to Houston?

Dallas Stars aren’t moving. But Houston will probably get a hockey team through a different method.

Houston will never have a hockey team and the likes of Fertitta have had their fill of pro sports franchises.
