Is the strong seller's market due to the pandemic, and that people who would normally have sold are holding off? What do we think inventory and market will be like in Summer 2021 and 2022?

I bought a home at the start of the pandemic, i paid asking price.
It was partially due to getting an offer in before the home was listed and the offer in ASAP.
