Most of rap music is simply about living the white suburban dream. Think about it-

-The paranoid guy whose mind is playing tricks on him… so he’s talking tough about “carrying” and other things on Nextdoor and even this forum, for protection against those black guys he thinks are trying to rob him.
-The shallow people who are all about their cars, clothes, jewels and fancy things- including a dinner table & chairs and the pedigreed dog who begs at it.
-Speaking of cars, just replace it with a big house. With a big 8k screen and 7.1 home theater system that’ll break all haters’ hats.
-Cash obsessed and sometimes arrested. Just like those career dads who have imprisoned themselves to the office… gotta keep stackin’ that paper!
-High on drugs. Ever seen the average suburban white mom’s medicine cabinet? Multiple ways to mix a glass of wine… to put you out like a light.
-Hoes… 3 words: Offshore Technology Conference. Dad goes there to see what he can pull.
-Whenever you hear lyrics about watching out for cops, they really mean the IRS. Like their Orange messiah. Take these MF cuffs off of us!
-BTW 55% of these n***as is fake.
-Lesson: Foul rap music was all about young black males pushing the boundaries of the 1st amendment… you know the modern day suburban teabaggers also complain that Twitter, et al is silencing them. Sorry whiteboy, the tables have turned— no vaseline for you!

So… if you get my references above you’ll see what rap music is really all about.

But I mean multiple popular "artists" (hehe) arrested and convicted for all kinds of mayhem, what other signs do you need. Yeah the classic period of rock is long gone but it at least is widely considered deserving of a category so designated alongside classic R&B.

South Park Mexican should've gotten thrown under the jail. Aggravated sexual assault of a child in 2002, and before that he abused another 9-year old girl who was visiting his daughter, then this fool impregnated a 13-year old girl and never paid child support. Dude is a sex offender, period.

I was reading a book about Kraftwerk last night, including how they influenced early hip-hop. I remember reading that some years ago, but it never clicked how much sampling Kraftwerk influenced the sound (or how influential Giorgio Moroder was on basically everthing).
