Thats so uninformed, its actually cute. Either that or youre simply lying.

Looking at the most dangerous cities in Texas, there is no correlation between which party runs them.

Oh well this is amazing list!
Comparing mostly small towns to Houston...
I don't want to go into details what's going on in each small town and what makes it dangerous. In this thread we are discussing Houston. It's well known problem that released criminals cause more violent crime in Houston.

List includes property and violent crime merged together. I'd much rather deal with property crime than violent crime, and many of those cities on the list like Lubbock just have high property crime. Whereas a place like Houston or Beaumont have more violent crime.

Some of Beaumont's issues are kind of similar to Houston. Just strictly looking at data all the time doesnt tell the whole story if you dont delve into why the data is what it is or what is actually being presented in the data... This list doesnt prove anything imo.

Arrow BREAKING BOND - Harris County Bail Bond Board is enabling the murder of innocent citizens

It is August 2023, and Randy Wallace's series "Breaking Bond" on Fox seems to be falling on deaf ears. HOUSTON! You STILL have a PROBLEM... BREAKING BOND highlights violent criminals who have been released on multiple felony bonds, and who have committed murder again while on release awaiting trial.
There are 6 judges that are responsible for letting these monsters back on the streets - some have between 6 to 9 BONDS! Shocking isn't it?? How can anyone justify this when the judges CAN deny bail, revoke bonds, and stop this madness. The Bail Bond Board, coincidentally all Democrats. Just as are the judges. On this board is the Sheriff. Now someone tell me how a board and Sheriff Gonzales can defend this type of conduct in any way demonstrates a commitment to public safety?

Maybe Houston voters will finally realize how this administration is destroying our country, and no one can fix it but the people. The youth of this country have lost hope - apathetic voters resign to let someone else fix it. Your city will give you back what you put into it. Get these crooks out of office. Attend city and county meetings. Men, stand as mentors in your community. Hold everyone accountable for every life taken

The Bail Bond Board has nothing to do with regulating the bonds set by judges. The purpose of the Bail Bond Board, as designated in State law for counties with populations over 110,000, is to regulate bail bond sureties, ie bail bondsmen.

The makeup of the board is defined in State law in the Texas Occupations Code https://statutes.capitol.texas.gov/D...tm/OC.1704.htm

Sec. 1704.053. BOARD COMPOSITION. A board consists of:

(1) the sheriff or a designee from the sheriff's office who must be the sheriff's administrator or a deputy sheriff of the rank of at least sergeant;

(2) a district judge of the county having jurisdiction over criminal matters and designated by the presiding judge of the administrative judicial district or a designee of the district judge who is approved by the presiding judge;

(3) the county judge, a member of the commissioners court designated by the county judge, or a designee approved by the commissioners court;

(4) a judge of a county court or county court at law in the county having jurisdiction over criminal matters and designated by the commissioners court or a designee of the judge who is approved by the commissioners court;

(5) the district attorney or an assistant district attorney designated by the district attorney;

(6) a licensed bail bond surety or agent for a corporate surety in the county elected under Section 1704.0535, or a bail bond surety or agent for a corporate surety licensed in the county who is designated by the elected surety or agent;

(7) a justice of the peace;

(8) the district clerk or the clerk's designee;

(9) the county clerk or the clerk's designee, if the county clerk has responsibility over criminal matters;

(10) if appointed by the board, a presiding judge of a municipal court in the county;

(11) if the county's principal municipality designates a presiding judge in the municipal court system, the presiding judge or a municipal judge from the system designated by the presiding judge;

(12) the county treasurer or the treasurer's designee or, if appointed by the commissioners court in a county that does not have a county treasurer, the person designated by the county commissioners court to perform the duties of the county treasurer; and

(13) a criminal defense attorney practicing in the county and elected by other attorneys whose principal places of business are located in the county and who are not legally prohibited from representing criminal defendants or the designee of the criminal defense attorney.

In cases I've looked at, sometimes the bail is set at the amount requested by the DA, in others the amount is set by the judge at whatever level they deem appropriate. Any complaints you might have should be directed at the judges, not the Bail Bond Board.

Straight party voting put them all in office in 2018, along with Lina Hidalgo. Harris County is blue now, so get used to judges who are soft on crime.

What are you talking about? the Bail Bond Board doesn't set bail or bond, and voted over a year ago to require bail sureties to get 10% up front instead of the 5% they had dropped to.
