On a recent post someone asked about a family-oriented place to live, with good schools, wide cariety of services, etc. and the following areas came up:
Meyerland, Garden Oaks, Spring Valley, Oak Forest, Candlelight Estates, Frostwood, Wilchester, Klein, Kingwood, Sugar Land...

Does anyone know where I can find a map that would show these areas? Are these suburbs or neighborhoods of Houston? Thank you!

This map is for the City of Houston and does not include unincorporated Harris County or neighboring counties (Sugar Land, for example, is in Fort Bend County) so you may not find all the neighborhoods, subdivisions, and suburbs you're looking for on it. Perhaps someone has a better one, but it's the most exhaustive list I'm aware of. City of Houston eGovernment Center (http://www.houstontx.gov/planning/suprnbhds/recognized_sn.htm - broken link)
Super Neighborhood Technology Center Map (http://www.houstontx.gov/planning/suprnbhds/TechCntrInfo/sn_map_w_links.html - broken link) Frostwood and Wilchester are in Spring Branch. Spring Valley is one of the Memorial Villages. Klein is northwest.

Default more q's

Thank you for the link- I looked at it- the one map has all of the areas, and the other link has the list. But I couldn't find some areas, for example "Klein" or Bellaire. I know I am being picky, but is there a map that has the places labelled? Because if I run my mouse over each section I can see what the neighborhood is called, but I can't find some of the areas. Also, when I try to look on realtor.com (for example) for houses in these areas, I can't seem to enter in these neighborhoods. Is there a good realk estate web site where you can put in the individual neighborhoods and search that way?

Thanks!

If you look at my first link Bellaire is just SW of downtown and Klein is off the map but is north central above Bammel.

That's because Klein is in unincorporated Harris County and Bellaire is its own city. chris_ut's got it right.

Candlelight Estates is just outside the 610 loop northwest of the Heights near Oak Forest and Garden Oaks.

Klein is an area of Spring Texas , as is The Woodlands. Sometimes zip codes help. Check 77379 and 77388 for Klein area homes.

I just did a search iwth the zip codes that someone provided. I cannot believe how much house you can get in Texas!??? These houses are HUUUUUUUUUGE!!?? I just saw a 6 bedroom house for $359. Is this for real??? Are they next to a sewage dump? Why are they this cheap?? I want to move tomorrow. You would not believe the difference between Chicago and Houston in prices. I wouldn't have the furniture to to fill the house, but I guess with the affordable prices I can buy more ha ha.
