For many years there was a gentleman on Westheimer named Roger Howard, who appraised, bought and sold fine tableware. I sold him a set of my mother's china, and some silverware, probably about fifteen or twenty years ago. He has since passed away, and I have been unable to locate anyone in metro Houston with his level of interest and expertise. Do you know of anyone?

David Lackey had the fine china shop in the Antique Pavilion on Westheimer near Kirby. He got out of the business several years ago due to the on-line competition from places like replacements.com. I believe David Lackey still has a shop there, although it's for antiques and not china. If you need an appraisal, he might be able to help. If it's to buy or sell, you'd probably need to contact replacements.com. You could also go on their site and get an idea of what your pattern is retailing for in the resale market.
